WAN infrastructure

Reliable connections between sites, cloud and data centre, sized for today and ready for growth.

When the sites do not behave as one

A second office, a warehouse, people working from home, applications that have moved to the cloud: the wide-area network is what makes all of that feel like one company. When it is under-sized or badly put together, the symptoms are familiar. The business software is slow at the branch, calls break up in the afternoon, and when the single line into a building fails, that site is simply offline.

Often the connections were bought one at a time, from different providers, on contracts nobody has compared in years.

How we approach it

We map what you have: lines, providers, contracts, routers, firewalls and the traffic that actually crosses them. Then we look at where your applications live today and where they are going.

From that we design the connections between your sites, your cloud services and your data centre:

  • Capacity based on measured use, with room for the growth you expect.
  • A second route for every site that cannot afford to be offline, with automatic switch-over.
  • Encrypted site-to-site connections and secure access for people working remotely.
  • One firewall policy across all sites, instead of one per location.

We compare providers and contracts for you and take care of the ordering, the installation and the changeover.

What you get

  • A network drawing and an overview of every line, contract and renewal date.
  • Connections that have been tested, including the switch-over.
  • Monitoring of availability and load, with a report you can read.
  • One point of contact when a line fails: we deal with the provider.

Frequently asked questions

Do we have to change provider?

Not necessarily. We start from the contracts you have. Where a line is too slow, too expensive or a single point of failure, we propose an alternative and show what it changes.

We work mostly in the cloud. Do we still need a WAN design?

Yes. The cloud moves the servers, not the dependency on the connection. When everything runs over the internet, the quality and redundancy of that connection matter more, not less.

Can you take over an existing SD-WAN or VPN setup?

Yes. We document what is there first, and then decide with you what to keep and what to replace.
