LAN infrastructure
Secure, well-documented office and site networks: cabling, switching, Wi-Fi and segmentation, built to stay stable.
When the network is the weak spot
Most office networks were never designed; they grew. A switch was added when the desk count went up, the Wi-Fi was extended with whatever access point was at hand, and nobody is quite sure which cable goes where. It works — until a video call drops in the middle of a client meeting, a guest laptop turns out to sit on the same network as the accounts server, or the one person who understood the setup leaves.
The cost is rarely one big outage. It is a steady loss of time, and a security risk that stays invisible until it is not.
How we approach it
We start with a survey of what is there: cabling, switches, access points, addressing and the way traffic actually flows. You get the findings in plain language, with the risks ranked, before we propose anything.
From there we design a network that fits how you work:
- Structured cabling and switching sized for your building and your growth.
- Wi-Fi planned on a site survey, so coverage and capacity are measured rather than assumed.
- Segmentation that keeps guests, staff, servers and devices such as cameras and printers in separate zones.
- Monitoring, so a failing component shows up on a dashboard instead of in a complaint.
We install and configure it ourselves, outside office hours where that is needed, and we migrate in steps so the business keeps running.
What you get
- A documented network: a drawing, an address plan, labelled ports and a record of every setting.
- A security baseline: separate zones, managed access and current firmware.
- A handover session for whoever looks after IT day to day.
- One point of contact for changes and questions after go-live.
Frequently asked questions
Can you work with the equipment we already have?
Often, yes. The survey shows what is worth keeping and what holds the network back. We replace only what needs replacing, and we tell you why.
Will the office be offline during the work?
We plan the changeover in steps and do the disruptive parts outside working hours. Where a short interruption cannot be avoided, you know about it in advance.
Do you also manage the network afterwards?
If you want us to. Some clients have their own IT person and only need the design and the documentation; others ask us to monitor and maintain the network. Both work.
